Wedding Activities

Western Theme Grand Entrance and Exits

How you and your hubby will do your entrance or exit on your wedding can do a lot to stress your chosen theme.

For a western wedding, arriving or leaving in horseback is one of the more traditional entrance mode. If you are up to it, you can choose to ride together or have one horse each.

Another cool way to “arrive or depart” is via a wagon, which can be pulled by horses or some friends. If you’re opting for the latter, it’s definitely a good idea to just limit the pulling of you and your hubby to just a short distance.

And lastly, we think that tying some horseshoe together on your getaway car is a cool idea and is surely worth considering!

Western Wedding Theme Games

We think that games which can bring other couples together, one that can help your guests meet new friends, or any activities that has something to do with you and your groom, are perfect candidates for your wedding games. Here are some of our game ideas for this theme:

Hats and Men

It is time to call out some single male and female guests who you think are up to a game.

This game will play like Musical Chairs, but of course with the right wedding and western twist.

The male players will be the “chairs” and should be one less than the available ladies. As with the original game, while the music is playing, the girls will be circling the “chairs” around. Each of these ladies will have a cowboy hat. When the music stops she must put the hat on the man nearest to her. The lady who failed to put her hat into good use is out of the game, the music resumes and the game starts all over again. This will play on until you’re down to your final couple.

Best Western Wedding Toast

As the title suggest, this game aims to find the guest table who's able to create the best wedding toast within 15-30 minutes. Since this is a western wedding, some of the western elements – boots, cowboy hats, lasso, horseshoe, and the like should be part of the prose. You and your hubby get to pick the winning piece.

Once the winning piece is chosen, it definitely deserves to be repeated by everybody when they finally toast to the couple’s health. Be sure to have some wine ready when this happens.

Bouquet Toss

Let the other girls have fun and do their own bouquet toss. And for this game, they will definitely do so.

The idea is that each of the female guests will be partnered with somebody, and that somebody’s task is to catch the bouquet tossed by each lady using a cowboy hat. Hence, your bouquet here should be smaller than the standard size.

Like the typical bouquet toss, each female guest must be facing away her partner when she does the toss. We will leave to you the number of tosses that need to be made.

Depending on your room size, you can choose to have more than one couple playing the game at the same time or just one or two at a time. The couple with the least misses will be declared the 2nd best couple of the evening!

To make this game more interesting, we think that reversing the roles of the couple (male gets toss, female gets to catch) will be really fun so we highly recommend it!
